100,000 Kingdoms by N.K. Jemison

I did these on my own because I was so intrigued with the story I had to get these out of my head. The double page spread shows Yeine at the Palace after taking a long travel just to get there. This is where the story really begins. Wanted to capture that tense moment.

The color piece of Yeine is how I envisioned her. Initially posted on Deviant Art, they were scene by the author N.K. Jemisin giving me a thumbs up. I received a Daily Deviation for this. And, Jemisin used it as the main art piece for a show honoring and guesting her. It was printed on bags, shirts, programs and posters. I was paid for this and given a few of each on whatever it was printed
